How to Feed

K9 Natural Canned Feasts deliver complete and balanced, high-meat nutrition with the added benefit of natural hydration. Made with fresh New Zealand water, they provide the same nutritional goodness as our Freeze-Dried Feasts in a convenient, ready-to-use format. Our canned recipes contain zero gelling agents or fillers. The only thing we add to bind our whole-food ingredients is fresh New Zealand water, nothing more.

Our canned food can be served on its own as a complete and balanced meal, or added to your dog’s existing food to boost nutrition and flavor.

Feed as a Complete & Balanced Meal

Open the can using the easy pull tab, stir the meat and liquid together, and serve directly in your dog’s bowl. Once empty, clean and place the can in your recycling.

Feed as a Tasty Topper

Add a scoop of canned food on top of your dog’s usual meal to increase nutrient content and enhance taste. Topping is a simple way to introduce canned food or add variety to your dog’s feeding routine.

Adult feeding guide

These feeding amounts are intended as a daily guide. Individual requirements may vary by up to +/- 50%, depending on age, activity level and breed. For puppies*, pregnant or nursing dogs, feed 2–3 times the adult amount per day.

*Large breed puppies expected to exceed 70lb+ (32kg+) as an adult should wait until fully grown before transitioning to our Canned Feasts.

A note on feeding

Every dog is different. Body condition, not the bowl, is the best guide for what is right for your pet. We recommend regularly monitoring your dog’s weight and condition, and adjusting feeding amounts if you notice any significant change over time.

Transitioning your pet to our food

We recommend following a 7-10 day transition plan. Start by mixing a small amount into their current food, slowly increasing the amount over 10 days until they enjoy an entire bowl of K9 Feline Natural. Transitioning correctly over this time will give your pet (and their stomach) time to adjust to the high-meat, nutrient-dense content of our food.
